1901 Pathology/Bacteriology Marbled Cover Notebook with Gorgeous Colored Pencil Illustrations Throughout, NYC

Regular price $185.00

If ever there were a thing to make me want to know all about diseases of the body, from renal infarctions to lymph node tuberculosis to chancres (genital ulcers), this 1901 "Pathology & Bacteriology" notebook, kept by a Victor Struck enrolled at the New York College of Dentistry, would be it! With the most beautiful ink and colored pencil drawings/diagrams throughout, making microscopic growths and cellular structures look every bit as wondrous as they are, though far more enticing than menacing. Photos document pretty much every page of it, except a handful of pages of pure notes. And as much as this is all about the drawings for me, the text is pretty much entirely readable.

8 x 6 3/4". Hardcover. 40 pages--31 filled front and back with bacteriology notes and drawings, 6 blank, 2 with chemistry notes. All in very good condition, with the color strong and just gorgeous throughout.
