Wonderfully Awkward Antique Silk on Silk Embroidered Bird

A little bird very much after my own heart, wonderfully awkward and hard-trying! Silk thread on silk ground, hand-dyed I believe, making me think this earlyish 19th century, I'd think done by a girl fairly early on in developing her embroidery skills. The feathers of the wings are quite glorious, like flame stitching, but it's the funny beak and dangling little feet that really get me. Love.

Framed as found, under glass in a newer gold painted wooden frame: 5 5/8" x 4 11/16". Very good condition.
