This horse just called to me to become its caretaker, for a bit, or forever, either way. It feels like a proud old workhorse to me, with one foot very carefully, lovingly replaced along the way, ensuring its longevity and making it especially empathetic. With inset eyes (black painted wood I believe) and pronounced brows and nostrils, adding up to a very soulful looking face. And, as with lots of things this week especially it seems, much better in person. I'd guess 1920s-30s or so, but could be a bit older than that.
6 1/8" l x 5" t x 2" w. Beautifully mended back leg as noted, and otherwise in excellent condition, carved of hardwood, heavy for its size.
