This nude was carved of an exotic hardwood, but I have a feeling the carving itself is American. Likely it was not completed, but to me she seems just right--a sort of Sphynx, legs merging into block of wall, and arm crossed in front of her as if controlling passage--and she herself seems like the riddle to be solved. With no mouth to speak, but holding what feels like a lot of power.
7" t x 2 3/8" w x 2 3/8" d. Very good condition. Wood is dense and heavy.
