I’m so intrigued by this tiny clay figure on horseback, which measures all of about one inch tall. At first the style of the horse made me think It might be Italian, but I’ve since found that it bears a strong resemblance to ancient Chinese archers and warriors on horses, and the figure’s costume particularly seems to suggest Chinese. At some point it must have been glued to a base or part of some larger scenario, as there are a few bits of paper stuck to a couple of the horse’s feet. I just think it’s completely charming, from the pink and teal outfit, crownlike hat with long flaps, and what looks a lot like a baguette in the hand of the rider! Altogether a very sweet and rather magical little thing to find a special spot for!
