I know this is an old one, as I found it along with remnants of an antique hand-cut tin lattice/sleeve, which would have held it to make it usable (no longer the case.) Which made me realize how lovely an object a liberated (and thwarted) hourglass is when set on its side--formally and metaphorically resonant in all sorts of ways!
2 1/2" long. Hand-blown, with pontils at either end, and satisfying pinkish-brown sand. Nice patina to the surface of the glass, which I have not touched. Still works when turned by hand.
