Remember Me, Marvelous 19th Century Hand-beaded Folk Art Love Token Needle Book

So many good things rolled into one little package: a token of love/friendship, portrait of place, and hand-sewn needle book/pin keep all at once, with white house right out of a schoolgirl sampler on front, and monogram and flower (or fruit?) with garland on reverse (to my eye evincing a gravestone, and so seeming something of a momento mori too) ... all laboriously rendered in tiny glass seed beads, sewn on one by one. I have total love for this very charming thing. And the variation in color of those pink beads spelling out the slightly wavering "remember me" make it feel extra alive, seeming to cry out, hopefully and also a bit desperately, across time. Yes, we will! A special one, which would make a very special valentine, I'd say. LOVE.

 2 5/8 x 2 3/8 x 7/16. Overall very good condition. Some bead loss just along the fold, as documented--but quite stable and sound and not fragile. Mid 19th C.
