Ready to Roar, Small Mounted Lion Monoprint by Victor DePauw, c. Mid 20th Century

Such an excellent, very ready to roar, lion-y lion--by Victor DePauw (1902 - 1971), whose work ranged from illustration (including early New Yorker covers) to NY school Ab Ex to many things in between. Born in Belgium, DePauw spent most of his life in the US, including more than 50 years active in NYC and East Hampton art communities. Lots more on him out there. 

5 5/8" x 4 15/16", thin paper mounted to card. This I believe is a monoprint, dark brown on light weight tan paper, which someone at some point trimmed and glued to a piece of card (not what I would ever do, but so it was.) I bought it at Brimfield a few years ago and have been enjoying it since!
