Peters and Reed 1910s Art Pottery Drip Vase

Regular price $80.00

Following a little research, I am confident this vase was produced by Peters and Reed, established by John D. Peters and Adam Reed in Zanesville, Ohio, in 1899, and that it is an example of their Shadow ware line, dating sometime between 1912 and 1921 (after which pieces were marked “ZCPO” and “Zanes Ware, Made in USA.”)  I just fell in love with its very Arts and Crafts palette (with that pale yellow body just about as perfect as matte green!) as well as its embrace of the chance effects of drip glazing--making it feel quite modern too, and rather Frankenthaler-esque! Lovely.

6 1/2" t x 5" d; 3 3/4" across at opening. Very good condition, with a couple of small scuffs on one side, as documented, minor.
