My interest in salesman samples on occasion is somewhat less for their own sake as samples (though of course I love all things miniature, and the concept of a salesman sample is a good thing) but rather more so for their resonance as specific objects. In this case, it is the word "CELLULAR" impressed into the brick that makes it for me--describing the form of the brick, divided into three sections, clearly, and also calling to mind cells in a prison, and structures and interactions occurring at a cellular level, etc. Plus the brick looks like a stage for a drama--or an arrangement of tiny things--waiting to happen! Stamped (impressed) twice with LBC, standing for the London Brick Co, with very good age and wear to it.
4 1/4" x 2" x 1 1/4". Some darkening and surface wear as evident, all to the good I think.
