I purchased this one at Brimfield from a dealer from my neck of the woods who had it displayed on a large easel--the first thing I saw walking into his tent and I was drawn to it like a magnet. It took him pointing out that he thought the three young women portrayed were ice skaters, perhaps at Rockefeller Center, for me to see that--I was just lost in the strangely balletic/poignantly awkward gestures, and in the very excellent colors of their coats and tights and hats! It's a large one, oil on masonite, good for filling, or anchoring, a wall, and nice with a fair bit of air around it. Reminds me a lot of Alex Katz, both in the palette and in the the way the figures occupy the space, and a fair bit in the face of of the young woman in the foreground, too.
36" x 24" and in very good condition, I would guess 1960s-80s. Unsigned, oil on masonite, with just the slightest amount of bow to the masonite, very minor.
