I have not been able to figure out exactly what this adorable little pair of Japanese boy and girl vessels (distinguished by their hair ties and the width of their obis) were intended to be used for. Perhaps for holding ink, or wetting and rinsing calligraphy brushes? If you know, please share! Meanwhile, I'd use them as fun little bud vases, candleholders, or even shot glasses!
Sold as a pair. Each measures 1 7/8" tall and 1" in diameter. There is some loss of paint and signs of wear in a few spots, but this does not detract from their charm!
