You know I have a thing for early British pearlware/transferware motto plates, but this is by far the most beautiful I've seen (the border, with raised flowers and black painted details is just stunning) and it's quite an early and scarce one. I also love it for the use of the now fairly achaic use of the word "sport"--here meaning diversion/fun, here taking the form of our girl perched at the high end of what looks to be seesaw, all the while reminding herself to keep "God, Heaven and Hell" in mind!
7 3/8" in diameter and pretty much mint condition. With an old, hand-wired hanger on back, which is itself quite nice.
