A beauty of an example of an early Froebel kindergarten paper weaving, this one I feel quite sure done by a teacher because of its fineness. It appears that the orange/brown paper was painted first, reminding me of grain/sponge painted boxes and furniture. Very striking. With a second paper weaving, aqua and plum, on the reverse, adhered to it. 19th c. I believe, found in Pennsylvania.
5" x 5 1/4". A few small tears along the edges, not running all the way through the other side, and a few losses around the edges on the reverse side.
