A lovely 19th century painting of El Niño de Atocha, aka a young Christ, with basket, staff, cape, green curtains behind, and flowering urns to either side of his throne. Painted on tin, with tin walls framing him, this would have been the center of a nicho, probably with decorated panels extending out to either side. I can never resist that baby/sky blue used for the ground of the painting here, and love the detail here, everywhere, plus those huge brown penetrating eyes, lending him a bit of a Mona Lisa feel!
