I found this one in Maine in the immediate aftermath of an April snowstorm (carrying a flashlight through an antiques store, as the power was out!) And so perhaps I was especially susceptible to the charms of a fluffy poodle and basket of kittens--but really how could I ever say no?? The oil on canvas painting is late 19th c. I believe, done after "Los Amigos de Poodle" by Austrian artist Carl Reichert (1836-1918)--the image of which would have circulated via reproduction. In its original frame, from which it is easily removed (I photographed it both ways) but which gives this poodle and her friends a grandeur that seems pretty fitting! The faces on the cats are, I think, especially good. All kinds of fluffy!
21" x 16 3/4" framed. Canvas: 15" x 11 1/8". Good antique condition, with a couple of small dings to the canvas, not piercing it, and which I don't think detract.
