Lovely Old Log Cabin Cotton Piecework Pillow Sham

Purchased from a dealer with consistently lovely old textiles in New Hampshire, I think both sides of this hand-quilted "log cabin" piecework pillow sham are equally good, made with a lot of care to the arrangement and alignment of the stripes on the cotton fabric, oriented on the square on one side and diagonally on the other. I'll never argue with a good grid, and love the subtleties of this one, all done by hand.

16 3/8 x 16 3/8 and in good, used antique condition, earlyish 20th c. I would guess. A little minor toning, general light wear, and a few tiny stains, but sound and lovely and ready for a 16" pillow.
