Sculptural Mid-Century Green Glazed Earthenware Studio Pottery Bowl

Regular price $70.00

When I lived in Kansas City, I purchased a studio pottery bowl similar in feeling to this one at the estate sale of a professor of architecture who had an incredible collection of modernist furniture, objects and books. I've never forgotten it as an example of just the sort of mid century studio pottery I love. This bowl, found in Concord, NH, immediately made me think of it. There may be a mark at the center of the underside but it is hard to tell. Whatever the case, a nice one , hand-thrown of earthenware and then pressed out in four places to form what one could be considered subtle handles of sorts, making it a pleasure to hold and giving it a sculptural feel.

5 1/2” d x 2 7/8 t and in excellent vintage condition, no issues at all. Hard to capture in photos, but I found setting it on this stool, listed separately, helped get some more light on it.
