Such a delight to find this one in New Hampshire the other day, reminding one of the enduring--and I think enduringly strange--tradition of having children photographed with "Santa Claus." This Santa looks perhaps Inuit or Native American to me, and the set up, with painted backdrop and what appears like gravel underfoot, with some fabric bunched up in it too, looks as if having seen better days. Then this bundled up child, two years and four months old, with big bow cinching her hood, looking not quite sure what to make of it all as she sits in her (sort of inexplicable as far as the North Pole goes) pedal car. Pretty great.
3 3/8" x 5 3/8". General wear, and toning to the reverse, with a couple of whitish streaks to the image, hard to tell if original to it or not, but feels all of a piece.
