I purchased this and one other I am listing at a flea market in Adamstown, PA, plucked from a larger lot all taken at a water circus, c. 1920s I believe. (I should have bought the whole lot for context, but most of them were much less interesting.) Here it is all about the juxtaposition of three women and three types of representation for me--the snapshot portrait of woman at left, photographic poster on sandwich board of performer with seal at center, and painted mural of woman in bathing costume at right. All three great! And adding up to quite a portrait of a time and place, which with a little research I am sure one could place precisely.
4" x 2 3/4" and in good condition. Stamped Velox on reverse, dating it between 1920s-40s, and I believe earlier than later.
