I think this Czechoslovakian Art Deco vase is simply lovely and also compelling—it feels a little bit Asian, a little bit European, and a little bit Southwestern, but also very of the moment in its color palette and hand painted decorative details. Dating from the 1920s-30s, it is marked Erphilia, a mark found on Czech and other pottery and porcelain made after 1920, which was used on items imported by Ebeling & Reuss of Philadelphia—combining the E and R of Ebeling and Reuss with “Philia” of Philadelphia.
8” tall with a diameter of 5” at widest and in excellent condition, it feels like a breath of fresh air and would be great for both minimalist and maximalist arrangements!
