This hip flask is very old, possibly dating from as early as the late 18th century. Made of very thick handblown glass, it is protected by a wonderfully worn leather cover, stitched together at the sides. It is truly a beautiful object...and what a wonderful thing to fill with a good whiskey and slip into your pocket as you head off on an adventure!
The flask measures 5 3/4" tall x 3" wide by 1 1/2" deep. The leather top has lost some of its stitching, as pictured, but stays on the bottle fine. The leather covering one the bottom half of the flask is fixed to the flask. There would have once been a small cork to plug the opening of the bottle itself, which is missing but should be easy to replace.
