One of my very favorites from a batch of watercolors I found a year or two ago, this one the hardest to part with. For a while it seemed to me all of them were done by the same person but now I think done by different students in the same class, who were given the same format and the same (wonderfully unusual) watercolor palette to work with. This one, captioned "A Street Scene" feels like a show down in the wild west--but no guns, just a face-off ofdueling energies! Marvelous down to every detail-- those hats, and boots, and evocative pools of red at their feet--and with rose colored lines extending from the front stoop to each of them, like curtains opening on the drama.
Framed: 15 3/4" z 12 5/8," Watercolor: 12 1/4" x 9". Mounted on archival mat and placed in a simple contemporary frame; frame is an inexpensive, off the shelf one, but I think well suited for letting the watercolor speak for itself.
