Early 20th C. Oil Cloth Carnival Game of Chance Numbers Board

Regular price $95.00

I've seen a few variations of this sort of oil cloth game board numbered 1-6 before, made for a carnival or fair, and I think specifically for what's commonly known as "Chuck a Luck." In its simplest form, the game involves rolling three dice, with betters placing stakes on their choice of numbers: they receive a 1:1 payout if the number bet on appears once, a 2:1 payout if the number appears twice, and a 3:1 payout if the number is rolled all 3 times. And so, quite an easy one to play at home, whenever the fancy strikes, with the board just a beautifully graphic thing to hang on the wall and admire the rest of the time. Personally, I'd hang it and make up all sorts of games to play with it, while also,  using it to, say, count toward a day of rest!

47 1/4" x 15 5/8". Very good condition, just general wear and light surface cracking, color bright and bold, with no tears or fraying or other issues. Found in a cardboard tube with a 15 cent stamp postmarked Kansas City, which seems very likely original to it, and in which it fits perfect, so I'll include.  Tube measures 17 7/8" x2 1/2".
